Where's My Missing Money? State's Unclaimed Property Division Is Backlogged

In response to viewer complaints that claims submitted to the State Treasury were taking ages to process, NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth began investigating the matter. According to the comptroller, claims typically take two to four weeks to process, but at the moment taking as long as four months due to a back log of over 40,000 claims! They are currently hiring more workers to help speed up the claim process, so it's a good idea to submit claims now in order to your money as soon as possible!
