Family receives $50,000 from Unclaimed Property Program

A family in Georgetown, South Carolina were in for quite the surprise when their local representative Carl Anderson gave them a call. Rep. Anderson was calling to let them know that they had $50,000 waiting in the state's Unclaimed Property Fund, which is run by State Treasurer Curtis Loftis. The money came from an old life insurance policy that a relative had taken out years before, and they had been completely unaware of its existence!
